Well, the article does say all religions, but further down in the original article, it analyzes Buddhism and finds it does not fit the requisites of a meme. Neither would Hinduism. But more importantly, neither would Islam or Christianity if both were looked at from a strict, textual stand-point and not institutionally. The fact is, all religions technically do not fit all the requisites for a meme, or "parasite of the mind." Only when you add in zealous followers do you get Muslims and Christians who do start a meme, self-deluding themselves to the true intent of the actual religion they profess, mostly in disregarding textual passages that would curb violent, arrogant tendencies.

Theists can rightfully defend religions by bringing up such points, and I'd agree whole-heartedly. But then again, why do most crazy people have references to religion in their skewed psychological make-up of the world? Because a religious mindset sometimes makes people go crazy, especially those people that are unstable in the first place. They go bonkers when put into a absolute religion such as Christianity and Islam (otoh, Buddhism and Hinduism are not absolute religions) due to opening up their minds to this fantastic world of miracles and divinely ordained tasks with after-death absolution.

I think a pre-screening psychological profile test is in order for all new members of any Christian church or Islamic mosque.
