Great post as usual DdC. Drug testing, along with credit checks, and other types of screening only makes it harder for people to work and earn an honest living.
Last year, I went to a job fair here locally. Sitting outside the building was a large motor home that had been turned into a rolling lab with advertising for drug testing, fingerprinting, credit checks, and other pre-employment screening. They also had a booth inside. I mentioned the same statement to a man there about how they make it hard for people to work. His response was, "We don't make the decisions, we just gather the information. " I replied to that, "We don't give the orders, we just throw the Jews in the ovens. "
Since we live in an income tax based society, every time that a person is turned away from employment because they could not pass the screening, this turns an asset into a liability. This is what the prohibition has done for most of the past century. Just think of where we could be if this wasn't the case. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">
