Thanks Flowers, I definately agree, that tidbit shall go in for sure!
Welcome to the hooka by the way.
Anyone ever tried Diahydro (Diatomaceous Earth)?
It's a PH neutral, inert, silica rock consisting of fossilised freshwater algae shells (diatoms). Salt water variants are available but contain impurities which reduce the benefits of the material substantially. The silica content itself is a positive given that silica is an essential component of plant growth and although it is dissolved from almost all rocks diahydro is 87 - 94% (source:company literature) silica.
Diatoms are extremely porous and have a huge relative surface area hence are able to absorb and retain plenty of water and oxygen. It's also very insulating helping to keep in warmth and give your root systems a more constant environment.
It also offers pretty unique protection from insects given that it's microscopic sharp edge puncture insect exo sleletons!!!! Hardcore medium!!!
Never used it myself as I am a little sceptical about the eco friendliness of its production, anyone else ever run with it?
Come on guys, any medium related information for the FAQ? Come on, you know you want to?
