My bible says God did this ultimate sacrifice to save the world from our sins. Even Jesus asked his Father why he would forsake him so it didnt make sense to him either, at least in the beginning. But it did happen and his blood washed away our sins, at least thats what I learned in church.
Jesus suffered terribly at the hands of his attackers, he did this for us.
