During the Protestant Reformation, however, this cooperation began to erode throughout Europe. In PARANOIA, a band of fanatical members of the Society of Jesus, or the Jesuits, formed to fight Protestantism and the Illuminati, whose members included alchemists, magicians and intellectuals. This group, called the Christian Soldiers under the direction of the Black Popes, regularly dispatched agents across Europe to assassinate Protestant royals, murder Gnostics (see The Illuminati) and spread Catholicism.
