Dogs lift their leg on a tree to mark their height, the higher up the wall, the bigger the dog. Use this logic when pissing on trees......dont mark the grass areas around the site, mark the more upright structures.
I carry in 2L I prepare earlier.
I collect hair from the grooming brush of my dogs and spread that around the site, and I do alot of soil prep in the off season....I always take the dogs. I use small bells on fishing line about 30cm off the ground....animals wont stay in a area that they have been startled in...and they are unlikely to return.
As for other bugs and shit....that is a different topic altogether. If you find info post it here though, I followed threads that ran for years on that topic on other boards. But I didnt pick alot up. Most ppl manage the issues as they arrive. If you observe it soon enough most probs have an easy, reliable, organic solution.
