Carbs are addictive. When you eat starchy foods, you blood sugar gets higher than normal and then it plummets real low so you feel hungry again and crave the same starchy sugary foods. If you stop consuming breads and sugars and what-not you often have physical withdrawal symptoms (I did) before your blood sugar levels even out. I don't think meat is addictive. It's about balance. It's not good for you to eat too much red meat (some is good as long as it is chewed properly, etc... you get iron and lots of valuable vitamins and minerals... especially from liver). It's also not good for you to eat refined white sugar or white flour. We eat too much meat and not enough veggies and whole grains in this country. We eat way too much white sugar, white flour, and potatoes as well.
