I made shroom tea recently, and as one who has a severe gag reflex to the taste and smell of shrooms, it was a nice change from eating them. I made my tea as follows:
-I ground up my desired amount in a coffee grinder and put the powder into a large mug
-Then, I boiled water with a few squirts of lemon juice added, then turned off the heat to let the boil stop. (Lemon juice is supposed to enhance the onset of the high, and reduce oxidation of the alkaloids by lowering the water pH.)
-When the boil stopped, I poured the water into the mug with the powder, stirred, and allowed it to sit for 20 min or so. I stirred here and there during that time.
-Then, I poured the tea through a strainer into another mug, to filter out all the solids. (Only a little bit of cloudy "mud" got through, but most of it settled by drinking time, and didn't get swallowed.) At this time, I added a peppermint tea bag and let it sit in the fridge until it cooled off enough to chug.
About 30 minutes after chugging, the wave rolled in, but the nausea aspect was almost non-existent. I still got the post shrooming sinus headache, though. Oh well, can't win em all.
