Sam Nunn has been hired as part of the transition team for the Department of Defense, so he'll have a hand in whoever it becomes.

Edit: i also would like to mention that I admire Zakaria not because of his appearances on the Daily show and ABC, but in his own actual show GPS with Farheed Zakaria, his questioning and style are unrivaled to me based on my own worldly travels and understanding. His book The Post-American World also is a real eye-opener on how the 'third world' relates to the 'first.'
