Yes, everything almost always rejoins the cycle. How it rejoins is just as important as the final result. Tossing it in the dumpster with all kind of other garbage to be carted off to a landfill amongst other trash isn't the best way for it to return to the earth. Burying it in the ground was. It also shows some respect for the mistake made, nature, earth etc.
