Humankind is competitive by nature, I don`t think there`s any getting away from that.

Even if you start a commune with the ideal of non competition participants would just find ways of competing within that environment.

But I don`t think competition is necessarily malignant. Problems arise when people are rewarded for success in ways which are harmful to society and the world in general.
