I used to be a truck driver so just thought I'd pass on the lessons I've learned.

get a wire coat hanger and crawl underneath your car and wire a key to the frame and tuck it away. Ive locked my key plus the spare in the wallet a few times. I've also bought the magnetic box and have had it bounce off somehow. That way it's always where you need it...on the outside!

If you don't use tools very often...at least go to autozone and pick up a 1/4" drive combination metric/Standard socket set, and toss it behind the seat. Plus 1 phillips head screw driver, and one standard(flat), and pair of pliers. These are mainly for replacing bulbs, headlight bulbs, fuses, hoses, etc. Also carry at least one of each thing just mentioned.

Check your tires every trip, if it looks low check it with a gauge (I guess you can add tire gauge to the list) If you have a truck stop near by they usually have free air.

Check your spare every month.

I hate seeing good people, or even bad people get busted by cops because of some simple problem like a bulb out.

Oh yeah, replace wipers on a regular basis.
