24/24 is good for veg.

It`s often best to wait until the plant wants to flower. You can tell when this is because they show the preliminary signs of flowering. This is called preflowering. When it shows will depend on the strain and environment.

There are ways around having to wait for preflowering to happen. If you have a clone of a plant that has already reached preflowering then you can flower as soon as it has roots for good effect.

Flowering is induced by changing the light schedule to 12/24 or less.

Flowering a plant before it shows preflowering will usually take longer and might stress the plant. Some strains will take it better than others I guess.
