Any body on his land is his responsibility and he can be sued if they fall in a hole or whatever. People leave their garbage behind and piss and shit all around the property. they play loud radios or are loud talkers who interrupt his peacefulness and set the peacocks squalling and squawking all day. He has no way to ascertain who are good and who are bad. He only let's those who "Ask" permission to access his land entry. On everyone else, he calls the cops and has them ticketed. He owns the land on which the river flows, but he does not own the river. If you are afloat he can say nothing. If you are standing in the water you are technically on his land and are trespassing.
well i can understand him being mad that we were on his property i dont fault him for that, but to go batshit insane was uncalled for. i told him "ok we are leaving" and started packing up and he was still going off. i can especially understand people getting mad if they owned livestock or other valuable property on that land but this area i was fishing had literally nothing around it just a short stretch of land and then the river. plus im not even sure it was his property cause it really looked like pacific gas and electric owned it.

bongobongo-i have never been fly fishing, id love to try it out. i dont think id be much good my casting skills with a standard spinning reel arent even that good.
