First question: what are you trying to do? Survive or thrive?

If it's survival and protection of your family, where & what kind of environment do you live in?

If it's not just survival and more about thriving in the next stage of our economy, what skills do you have that you can offer your community? Instead of trading everything in for gold, have you considered trades and barters?

Edit - Think about the tremendous opportunity that is at our feet. We have a world's history to reflect and learn from and a global technology that is allowing us to discuss and rationalize it. Isn't the point of all this, to evolve and not repeat history? I feel just our mere discussion of this right now is assuring us that it's not a repeat...as long as we take action on what we know to be true.
