people really underestimate ancient intelligence, they may not have had the technology to make things easier but that is exactly why we can't figure out how they did it. Some of the most intelligent people lived in these times. It wouldn't be difficult for the architects to also plan a way to move a large stone, their measurements were precise, they had skilled workers and the greatest minds in the world to help design ways to move these huge rocks. With the right amount of leverage anything can be moved with ease.
and the other difference from then and now is motivation. Now we are motivated by money, back then the workers were motivated by their lives and their family's lives and I have to say that if my life is threatened I would make sure I didn't screw up.
