Its gotten to be kind of a trend lately I suppose. But for me, it started when I raided my parents vinyl at the age of about 9. I went on to get into dj shit at which point my collection began growing as far as hip-hop and electronic music go. Then i guess my interest in vinyl just kinda stayed and I grew the rest of my collection as well.
For me the benefits are obvious. A good portion of my music is digital, so, as bearsy mentioned the sound quality when compared to analog is just pretty poor. Also, I like to have big ass album art laying around. Digital copies for on the go, bulky vinyl for at home listening pleasure.
