So, back in the day, we had hundreds of dollars (thousands in today's money) invested in equipment to have the ability to change the sound of any record we played. If your record was played on a shitty record player, it sounded shitty. If it was played on a good one, it sounded good.

Just from personal experience, I'm not sure I agree with the sound quality being better (that could also be from too many rock concerts!).

Now nostalgia I can understand. I have records of MY parents for the same reason. (I mean who ever heard of Jim Nabors?)(He was 'Gomer Pyle' on TV, but did you know he could sing???)

So to stay with the thread (sorry), I will say I have:

Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland
Carole King - Tapestries
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Janis Joplin - Cheap Thrills
Simon and Garfunkel - (same one as in above post)
Grateful Dead - (don't know which one because the cover is in 3 pieces and I can't find the right piece)

I have more but these are all originals from the day. All well loved (scratched up).

One last thing....invest in a good record cleaner. Use it each and every time. Keep your records in their sleeves, don't leave them all over the place. Take care of you needle. (Some people had 2 cartridges...1 for their own stuff, 1 for everyone else's.)

I love music, anyway I can get it.

Thanks for the kindness guys....
