@ Mothernature- I think vinyl vs. cd is a matter of taste, cd is cleaner, vinyl is richer and warmer. The CD format could have done with better sampling rate and bit depth, they set the format standard a bit too low IMO.

In terms of durability- if you look after vinyl it lasts for ever- I`ve got mint records I`ve had for decades and played loads of times.
CDs on the other hand always degenerate and start skipping after a decade or so even if you do look after them. And they`re just as vulnerable to scratching if you leave them out of their case.
