That last post I wrote was not about realism at all. It was in response to you're comment about Toronto trying to be like other cities.

I addressed the realism aspect with the post before that one.

I definitely hear ya. There's pros and cons to any location or living situation, but the relationship one has with their environments is probably the most important part of it all because there is personal influence involved (to a degree). If the relationship is volatile the logical thing to do is pack up and jet.
