I dunno, I would think that an ounce would fill up a 1000ml container unbusted so... but that's just me guessing.
as far as "unsalted" or "salted" butter... I would guess that you'd want unsalted butter, as the method for clarifying butter is to simmer lightly (until all salt has risen to the top of the butter, so then you either skim off the salt or end up with some HELLA salty shit).
Go with unsalted.
