This is correct. If you used raw sewage it would stink. Also you`d want to worry about handling the weed (bacteria etc), not that the cell matter of the plants would be contaminated, rather that bacteria could get splashed onto the outside of plant by water or whatever, because bud is sticky it`s not as if you could wash it like a lettuce or a carrot before use.
However human shit will be rich in nutrients, if
properly composted you could use it in a soil mix.
It`s probably going to be pretty hot in nutrients (depending on the diet of course) so I`m not sure what proportions you`d use in the soil mix, you certainly wouldn`t want to use it (or any other manure for that matter) neat.
I`d give it at least a year to compost personally.
You could also bake it in an oven but this would really stink.
