I love you dude. I had this same exact notion, although I wasn't tripping.
I think everything has it's own perception of time, some slower or faster than others. I also thought of a species that perceived time as going by really fast, or at least really fast compared to our perception. And I always thought of these species controlling us, but we can't see them, for they travel at the speed of light, perhaps faster if possible. It's an interesting notion, but like most they can go to the extreme and become very implausible
