I guess I'm confused.....

The Dec. 21, 2012 is the date the Mayan calendar stops. As there is no one left alive who can read Mayan, we must trust to a handful of professionals to interpret for us.

We do know, that on that date, the planets, the sun, and the center of the Milky Way will line up. What does this really mean? That the earth will be destroyed? This lining up happens, about every 20,000 years. If this is true, then we humans need to find a new planet, I guess.

I do believe that this age will be remembered. Not from the late 90's thru 2012 though. It will be known as the 'computer age'. History will talk about NASA, the first man on the moon, microchips, and Windows.

For massive changes to come from that....I would have to say, I hope it does happen. I believe that global communication is the key. It's not so easy for the 'common folk' to be lied to now. What we do with our massive amounts of information is another story.
It seems to me, as a society, we (Americans at least) have done pretty much nothing. We knew George W. lied about WMD, and we re-elected him anyway.

And Bdizzle, I am a baby boomer. Why ya gotta hate me for?
