I was quoted $375 for front brake catepilers & pads. I went to AutoZone and bought everything needed ($89 including brake cleaner and lube) and had my neighbor do it for $40 for a grand total of $129. Big dif, especially when I just had to shell out over 4 bills for 4 new tires. Now I'm set for a while, hopefully.

You got to network to get things done for a reasonable price. Connections are everything as shops need to pay for all their overhead which is a lot more than you think so you pay a lot more.
