The captain of that ship is a moron and constantly puts his crew in unnecessary danger. I recall one instance where someone fell overboard and he immediately yells to put the engines in reverse to go get him when in fact any captain of an ocean-going vessel should know that this would only suck him into the propeller and chop him up into whale food. It also seems like just about every other show the crew nearly dies trying to launch their boarding craft. And how about when he pilots his ship and rams a Japanese whaling ship? If anything this guy should be locked up for several accounts of attempted murder for constantly putting his crew and others in danger.
As for the issue of Japanese whaling and trying to stop them, I support the Japanese. People have been eating whales around the world for years and with current scientific monitoring it is increasingly easy to ensure that a species is not going to go extinct. The Japanese are also increasingly uninterested in eating whale meat which is seen as a wartime relic risen from necessity rather than a delicious meal.
If I had the chance I would personally shoot Paul Watson in the head.
