i think the olny way to make a lasting change is through education.
hunting creatures to the point of extinction is obviously evil but responsible hunting isnt bad. i mean think of duck hunters who love ducks and want there to be ducks forever are good, but as soon as you talk about whaling it becomes a "crime against nature"? i think thats an unrealistic way of looking at things.
also, i dont believe ramming boats and other violent confrontational actions are a good way to change a situation like this. conservation shouldnt be about punishing ppl - we see how well the "punishment paradigm" works on changing other situations -it doesnt work well against drug users and it didnt work well for the tamils against sri lanka
