Hmm..intense irony in that article. It's odd we have such a problem accepting the possibility of intelligent design, yet we consider ourselves intelligent, and now we are designing life. I wonder that if we develop a new form of sentient life, it will evolve to eventually question our existence?
Personally, I feel that Science will never be able to touch the organizing principle behind life because there's always a 'higher' or 'deeper' level (whichever way you want to look at it) to go to...eventually, you will arrive at a non-physical starting point. I guess whatever that non-physical starting point is (which is threaded throughout the tapestry of the universe) is what I call 'God.'
