Normally yes, as I understand it.

Unless they are polyploid. Polyploidy doesn`t normally occur in cannabis (according to Greg Green anyway), I think it is essentially a mutation where there is an extra chromosome (or chromosomes) in a homologous set (a homologous set is a set of chromosomes that occupy the same genetic loci).

I think some people have postulated that polyploidy could result in exceptional cannabis traits like very high thc content and others have denied this.
