this is was discovered a while ago im sure, but i just read about it and its crazy.
They found that the species of poison dart frog
Epipedobates tricolor contains a chemical in its skin that is 500 times stronger as a pain killer than morphine. its not an opioid and i dont know if it has any recreational aspects too it. it does have horrible side effects or something like that though lol
They were workin with it and synthesized and chem thats 50 times more potent than morphine, but stopped working with it cause of its "unacceptable incidence of gastrointestinal side effects".
thats fuckin dumb, and im sure they could work it with something to keep down the side effects if they continued working with it.
Any way point of this post is that they found something with this possible medicinal value, in nature, in the rainforest.
There has to be so many other little creatures out there with great medicinal, and who knows hopefully recreational
, value.
