I started using palmspringsbum years and years ago because I needed a user name and I was living in palm springs and it was the first thing that came to mind.
I've become rather attached to it, tough I've often been told to change it "for the good of the movement".
My opinion is that if people can't judge me by my words and actions their opinion isn't important. Besides it seems to get people's attention.
My real name is on the bottom of my web pages, but I don't think it's on my blog or my forum. It also appears if you do a look-up on my website.
I have written under my real name and had things published, but not recently. I haven't really thought about it. I used CApatient in those posts because I had to register and it wouldn't take palmspringsbum; too many letters, too long.
I suppose if I want to be taken seriously and make a name for myself I should use my real name, but I like being palmspringsbum - and it's not like my real name's a secret.
And, the fact is, my real name is rather unusual. You know my grandmother originally named my father "J". The letter "J". He had 7 brothers and sisters, and they all had pretty normal names: Evelyn, Duncan, Virginia... I asked my grandmother why she named him that once and she said she like the letter "J".
Well, come to think of it, I forgot one of his sisters, Minnie Lee.
It was always a hoot to introduce her to men. She was built like Dolly Parton, except she had bigger tits and more curves. My grandma had a real sense of humor. There was nothing "minnie" about Minnie Lee. Except that she was about as wide (at the top) as she was tall.
