The only precept I ever learned was 'Do what you will, harm none.'
Do a reading of religions history and it's not too hard to see how Pan became Satan. Sex was bad to the Christians of the time, so this is how the fertility god became satan. Yet a while before that, Yule, Easter and other rites were blended for the converstion of pagans.
