i feel like instances such as this are more to do with synchronicity than anything else. you know about telepathy, people readings peoples' thoughts right? i don't think it can be explained as brains sending thoughts to brains, what makes more sense to me is each brain has a similar thought simultaneously, due to sharing or resonating a sympathetic vibrational frequency. this gives the impression of telepathy (and if you've ever shared deep love with someone you know this resonance can be quite profound).
ever been thinking of someone only to have the call you at just that moment? it's the same principle. i'm convinced you did something similar with your friend and this spell.
