Hey, you're right.

I was wrong.


I was getting my American Regional New World Polka and Old World Polka confused.


New World Chicago, Dutchman-style, "Push" Polka has two (2) beats (cut time like ska)

The Tuba plays the Um-pa / Um-pa / 1-2 / 1-2

In Texas, the Push Polka, the Tuba is replaced by the guitar.

The guitar does the Um-pa using the "Ska" "Skank" technique -strumming up.



That's where the two converge, and where I got confused.

They both developed differently but have almost the same sound,
because of the cut time 2/2 and the ska "skank" guitar.
