Well that initial seedling stretch can be sort or small depending on many factors... If your plant reaches far out from the soil don't be worried as you can bury the remainder of the stem... Any part of the plant that is under soil is called the subterainian part... And the subterainian stem will begin to grow roots naturally
so if you do get a big stretch just cover up the excess stem and within a couple weeks roots should be coming out of the burried stem
