Thanks verk.
I wish the people that think we're going to all die off would just hasten their own demise so the rest of the world could get on with getting better. They're pessimism slightly holds back the visionary culture that's emerging.
This is a fantastic article regarding war, torture, slavery and the evolution of mankind beyond it:

That the decline of violence is a fractal phenomenon may be supported by the 2005 Human Security Report.
Quote:
|
…the number of armed conflicts has declined by more than 40 percent since 1992… Over the past dozen years, the global security climate has changed in dramatic, positive, but largely unheralded ways. Civil wars, genocides and international crises have all declined sharply. International wars, now only a small minority of all conflicts, have been in steady decline for a much longer period, as have military coups and the average number of people killed per conflict per year. — Human Security Report, 2005

When Ghandi said "Be the change you want to see", he meant every single person. It's the secret to creating the peaceful planet we hope for. But if you're just going to sit on the sidelines and fear our demise, then hurry up and get off the planet so the rest of the people with some hair on their nuts can carry the torch forward.
Furthermore, the human body is just a small sliver of your existence. Even once this body and all others expire, it's far from the end of anything. If it's not Earth, it will be another area of the universe/existence you will reside in. Continuous life, on and on. So get with it now, you're going to have to at some point.
