awwe man... I feel for you though I've wasted some weed when I was first starting out too. Keep a careful eye on your butter, constantly smell it(if it smells like vaped weed tone the heat down), make sure it isn't simmering off(use low-medium head), lots of mixing helps and it's kinda fun just playing with it haha.
Your cousin melted chocolate chips with his hands?! hahaha That's crazy. Try using like a rubber mixer thinger, if you don't have a mixer.
