the current roach challenge requires some mechanical backround.
I have a problem with the chain jumping off my scooter when I hit a big bump.
Seems the motor wasn't mounted on a rigid enough plate, and a good bump misaligns the sprockets just enough to jump the chain.
My fixes would to create an idler wheel to take up some fo the slack...it helped, but the chain should never come off, particularly if it jumps to the outer side of the wheel sprocket... jamming on the breaks in an instant sending riders ass over tin cups.
I'd like to carbon fiber over some aluminum plate I have...or I could just use the plate, making a new 1/8 thick motor mounting plate patterned off the old (with improvements)
Or jb weld a thinner aluminum plate over the existing one, clamp and pop rivet.
