This is was lifted from another site, but it gives the best explanation on what happened to the guy.

The victim was in a left lateral recumbent position when he was kicked in the right side of the neck which then caused an involuntary left lateral flexation of the cervical spine and I believe caused a fracture to the windpipe. I say this due to the breathing sounds emitted by the victim. They were a high-pitched “crowing”, which is characteristic of respiratory distress called “Stridor”. This almost always fatal when unattended within a matter of minutes. Because this injury involves a cessation of breathing, it takes at LEAST 4-6 minutes for permanent brain damage, and 10 minutes for death to occur. The victim is usually unable to respond due to a lack of oxygen after several minutes, but that’s not to say that he could not understand that he was in pain and know what was happening to him. Even if this had been a licensed combat, such as a boxing match or an authorized Martial Arts Tournament (which it was NOT), the so-called “Sensei” (what a joke of a sensei he is) should have stopped the match as soon as it became clear that this poor unfortunate man was clearly out of his depth. He did not “know” kung-fu or karate, and had clearly no real training in the Arts. But tough guy masquerading as a Black Belt had. And hope they both know that that lethal needle they give for murder these days is no joke. I’m told it actually does cause distress, especially in breathing, and that some cons are awake as they go “Bye-bye” to God. Let’s all hope that the two of them get a taste of their own medicine. SOON.
