this is the first thing i thought of - this idea of drugs that can do anything is so much a part of social consciousness now that when someone in a labcoat gives you pills and asks if your skin feels softer or your fingernails are stronger, nobody stops to wonder if a drug can actually do that or not, the only question is how well it works
