Thanks for your input, sirsmokalot989! The soil that I used was a bag of Miracle Grow potting soil that was brand new from Wally World. The "worm" is definately not a slug... I know those on site. Our dogs love to get them at night and freak us out by making us think there is something terribly wrong with them!! LOL!! I suppose that "worm" was a poor choice on my part. These guys look more like some sort of catapillar than a worm. But, I am unable to see any hair on them (not with my naked eyes, that is) like most other caterpillars that I've seen.

I sprayed them with some stuff that is supposed to be a broad spectrum insecticide that can be used on tomatoes. After spraying on tomatoes, they are supposed to be safe to eat in 3 days. So, I figure not spraying my plants for about a month or so should make them safe to use. I hate to call the company and ask how long before I can smoke my MJ!! LOL!!

Since I sprayed them, I've not found any more "gnat" like bugs or worms/catapillars on the plants. With the exception of minor initial damage done by them, my plants are beautiful... and, growing like "weeds" (sorry... couldn't help that!!)!!! LOL!!!!!
