Don Caballero

these guys played a huge part in the development of what people call math rock nowadays. guitarist ian williams and drummer damon che are pretty much masters of their instruments and its a bummer they dont play togethor anymore. between 1993 and 2000 they released four incredible albums on touch & go before breaking up and being reformed a few years later by damon che. they aren't so good anymore.

unfortunately i couldnt find a link for Don Caballero 2. it seems like the internet police are in overdrive lately.

For Respect (1993)Their first and least complex album due to Ian Williams joining only a few months before the recording. Produced by Steve Albini.

What Burns Never Returns (1998)This record was the bridge between the asskicking of Don Caballero 2 and the mostly clean and pretty guitar of American Don. Some incredible drumming. My favorite.

American Don (2000)
Ian Williams last album with Don Caballero, and his first album as the Don's sole guitarist. This record is very pretty and makes extensive use of finger tapping and guitar loops. Also produced by Steve Albini.
