i consider mario 3 the pinnacle. super mario world tried and did a lot of things right but it lacks a certain enduring quality. nothing since has really piqued my interest. nintendo really ran away with the whole finding special coins/stars/whatevers deal and it irks me to death. galaxy was different only as a novelty, and in the end reverted to the same old tired fetch-fest (not to mention new [read: gay] super mario bros on ds). is this the platforming experience enhanced technology was supposed to bring us? lazy ass game developers. . . i've made more creative transcriptions of fart noises than some of the shit they churn out
i'm not playing anything right now but i am waiting for my internet to be turned on so i can buy serious sam hd.
