Wait for him to wake up properly, make him some food/coffee... wait for him to cheer up, then hit him with it! Bit cruel as he will go straight back to grumpy mode, but best bet I reckon!

I remember the day I dropped the bomb... I thought it was gonna be terrible and my ol' fella just laughed and was like "About bloody time too" haha.. I suppose I am a lad though, dads are less protective of us I think.
