However JCP, I do see what you mean.
I think my core problem with this is just how backwards it was. Like instead of getting people off the streets in the video they were instead embracing the behaviour that keeps them there. Perhaps if they had REAL employees yea know, it wouldn't be so bad after all. However I am upset that 45% of those peoples salaries came from tax-payers.
As I said above, if they fixed the problem I'd be supportive, but it sucks being a citizen. Because we don't know if something is just or fixed, and the only way to find out is to send some 20 year old dressed like a pimp in to find out...
I really do wish we could as individuals chose where we spend our tax dollars. Pretty much here's how I see it JCP, I think in a truly capitalistic society(call me an idealist), people should donate whatever money they want to whatever organizations they approve of. Therefore the companies that florish are truly desired by the people. I don't know of most anyone who supports the war, yet here we all are paying to to watch the beating of a dead-horse(the war)...
I didn't mean to twist your argument, I'll be the first to admit, my head get's twisted itself.
But I still believe an army is necessary. If you were in Pittsburgh right now you might understand why, you know the G20 having all the world leaders in one place. I wish it weren't but if people are willing to fly air-planes into buildings then we need some line of defense. I believe in peace, but I know that some people just sadly can't be peaceful...
I think there needs to be a way to stop corruption, I just wish I was brilliant enough to figure out a way.

cool beans, and I agree they need to fix their problems! And, as your are utopian in what you wish in a capitalist system (donations to things you like), I would like to add that in order for this to work, I think MY utopian addition would be that humanity needed to stop being so greedy too. Taxes pay for a lot of crap most people who skimp on, regardless of importance...but I'm with you.
I have the self-discipline to "behave" and "give back" without taxes...You seem like you would be too..I'm not sure if most people are tho.
I also understand your stance on the military...and I agree to a point. In the world we live in we need a military. But the world won't change until someone lowers their weapon first. So my "utopian" brain sees the solution...but my practical brain knows humanity needs to grow the fuck up before it would be feasable. I always look to the Star Trek universe as a prime example of what could happen if people would...for lack of a better word...stop being such assholes.
I too wish I could figure out a way to stop corruption. Unfortunately, corruption is a choice made by individuals, and no one can control anyone else. That's the dark side of choice (I don't believe in free will, but that's for spiritual smoke, lol). Som people choose badly...and we all have to pay the price
