I have zero "meditation" training beyond 1) sit down comfortably, 2) close eyes, 3) focus on breathing, slowly and deeply...
I have no idea how to quiet my mind, but the beauty is that cannabis does this for me and the meditation experience just comes... The only time I have trouble is when I "try" to meditate rather than being still and just letting it happen.
Here is a biblical perspective on your question.
It
is a spiritual experience. Cannabis is particularly spiritual because in the physical realm "Spirit" is
breath. Meditation techniques, so I've read, focus on breathing... centering... because
breath is the center of our being and the basis for life and intellect. Now, when cannabis incense is consumed/offered as a sacrament to connect with God, the sacrament is
sacred - that's why its called a sacrament. Sacramental incense is breathed and thus we have
sacred breath. Curious... the words translated "Holy Spirit" or "Holy Ghost" in the New Testament are
hagios pnuema, and their literal translation is
"Sacred Breath".
In the Old Testament, Moses met with God in the Tent Of Meeting. This tent was fumigated with incense (you can guess what the incense was

). Inside the tent he was breathing this sacramental incense and thus he was
in the Sacred Breath - and the Bible says that it was there that he met God face-to-face (talk about a meditation experience!).
- Breathing is spiritual because your breath is your spirit.
- Breathing cannabis is divinely spiritual because your are breathing Sacred Breath in order to connect with God, assuming that is your intent for using it "Spiritually".
Cannabis can help still you take you
within for meditation and Jesus, like others, said that the kingdom of God is
within you.
Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. (Luk 17:21)
And how do we get there?
For so the LORD said unto me, I will take my rest (repose; be at rest; be still), and I will consider (to scan, that is, look intently at) in my dwelling place (properly a fixture, that is, a basis) like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest. (Isa 18:4)
There is some interesting interpolative text in the interpretation there, but the key points are:
- Be still
- Scan (meditate)
- Clear heat upon herbs
You can see the meaning, yes? There aren't any meditation "techniques" listed alongside. The reason, I think, is because Qaneh (cannabis) circumvents most of the human effort other than simply cooperating by being still.
Be still, and know that I am God... (Psa 46:10)
I hope some of this is helpful.
