I've had a recent awakening. If you weren't raised to say the word "ain't" then you ain't go no soul. Also, if you weren't raised to disregard double negatives, then
you ain't got no soul!!!
I'm sorry to say... I ain't got no soul either.
My grandmother would have sat me down for a good long talkin to if she heard me using the word ain't. ""Ain't" ain't a word", she told me. I'm sure some of you have heard that line before. I was made sure to mind my syntax, you best believe!
This is why I'll never make a good song writer. All good songs use "ain't" and double negatives to portray emotion, charm and just plain old soul!
