They are the end product of metabolism and filter the blood, which would help remove toxins and viruses. My Mom has had a transplant and has to take immune inhibitors and anti rejection drugs. She is practically mandated by the doctors to have one.
So stand correctly Spanky, atleast that is my impression of how they work and what they do.
