exactly as u say wed be fucked for our health choices, the govt would have access to our medical histories etcetcetc..
the people who say that the "hypotheticals are baseless" are really quite disingenuous- anyone with half a wit sees how the government having all your medical records and then being able to make decisions on your health care and what u will be entitled to based on politics and based on regression analysises and shit will not be good and the only hypothetical thing that happening is that they will likely do 10x the bad shit with our info and their newfound allmighty power over our livs then we can even think of now....
in the end, whatever the government did with your care- you would have NO CHOICE- it would be like every socialized medicine country - take what they give u or be forced to pay far more than u used to have to pay on private insurance to get even average care rather than waiting 5 weeks for "free" care.
