^ isn't everything released to the press -- i.e. "press releases" -- absolutely controlled by whatever agency is putting it out? what makes our current administration a special case? good god the cynicism i'm seeing in respose to every issue or non-issue is simply staggering.

anyway, rupert murdoc has thanked the administration for upping their ratings thanks to this controversy. i personally believe the move appends a false veracity to the message fox news is putting out, while making it seem like it's trying to be covered up. still, something should have been done about this long ago. while bush was a lame duck it was admitted that fox news operated as the propaganda arm of his administration. during the campaign nearly all coverage was oped drivel on how obama was unfit to lead, not to be trusted, or bent on destroying america. and that still continues to this day, amid lies and distortions about healthcare reform.

it's a lot to handle, and i can understand being fed up enough to make a brash move such as this. still, the actual damage being done to our institutions by fox news far outweighs the mere semblance of damage barring them from events may bring. and i don't even say that as a matter of opinion.
